Learn Local: College Admissions 101

Join us for College Admissions 101. This is an introductory workshop designed to help families better understand today’s college application process.

Participants will learn what colleges are really looking for, how to build a balanced college list, and what steps students should be taking during sophomore and junior year. The workshop is ideal for families with high school students who want clarity, structure, and a plan moving forward.

Participants will leave with a clear timeline, practical tools, and a better understanding of how to navigate the process with confidence and less stress.

Facilitated by Jessica Barker of Husum, founder of Gorge Educational Consulting.

Date & Time:

  • Wednesday, May 27th 7p - 8:30p

Cost: Sliding Scale $5-$15

  • Note: Minimum covers cost of materials and use of space. Additional amounts go to the facilitator for the gift of their time and may be added at checkout. [no one turned away for lack of funds]

Registration:

  • Space is limited to 30 participants.

  • Please register in advance. Drop-ins may be accommodated if spots are still available.

  • Parents & High School Students welcomed. Family Friendly.

  • Note: No refunds given; however, purchases can be gifted to another.

Meet your facilitator

A former high school science teacher with over a decade in education, Jessica is passionate about helping students feel supported as they navigate the college application process. After seeing how many capable students needed more individualized guidance than the system could offer, she shifted into educational consulting to work more closely with students and families.

Jessica brings a calm, personalized approach, meeting each student where they are and helping them move forward with clarity and confidence.
