The Learn Local Series is designed as a shared community offering in partnership with us rather than a guaranteed paid teaching opportunity.
Together we give to the community ‘accessible-to-all’ experiences that connect and weave us together.
We offer a platform and place for local makers, artists, and thinkers to effortlessly share their stories and knowledge through classes and conversations.
These invite and gather events are rooted in curiosity, creativity, and generosity - thus strengthening community by connecting with each other over a diverse array of shared interests.
Our Partnership
We will show up for you by giving you a space, a platform and people to connect at no cost to you.

We manage participant registrations and handle all payments on your behalf.

Your Learn Local event will be featured on our website calendar, in our email newsletter, and in Judy Skelton’s Trout Lake Newsletter. We’ll also share on our social media and in local interest groups and we’ll happily re-share any posts you create or tag us in (@themissingcorner on IG & FB).

We’ll monitor registration sign-ups and make additional marketing pushes as needed. You’ll receive a full participant list (with emails) before your event, along with a summary of projected income from registrations.

If registrations are low, we’ll notify you ahead of time so you can decide whether to move forward or cancel.

show up with an open heart and give your time without expectation of return.

Set-up and Clean-up your event/class
Our Shared Approach to Pricing, Profits and Payouts
Pricing
We will price the event on a sliding scale. The minimum price will be set to cover admin costs, cost of space and any supply /material fees - but not your time. The maximum price will be set at a cost that reflects the market value of your offering.
Pay Outs
If there is profit, we have the opportunity to pass this generosity on to you, put it into a community fund to further the capacity of The Missing Corner to serve, or a combination of both - at your discretion.
Completely Free Events
If you want to facilitate a learn local event that’s completely free for participants, we ask for a $100 flat fee from you to help cover space and our admin time to market the event.
Again, the Learn Local Series is designed as a shared community offering rather than a guaranteed paid teaching opportunity. If you’d like to ensure compensation for your time, we invite you to book the hall independently, handle your own registrations, and promote your event directly. We’ll still help amplify your work through our website and social media posts.
