Learn Local: Hempcrete in Action: A Two-Part Jobsite Tour and Knowledge Share - Part 1

Join us for this special two-part community workshop at The Missing Corner to explore the process of constructing with hempcrete — from bare framing to fully insulated walls.

Hempcrete is a mix of hemp hurd, lime, and water that creates walls that are:

  • Fireproof & moldproof for lasting safety and health

  • Pest-resistant & breathable, helping regulate indoor humidity

  • Highly insulative for year-round comfort and energy efficiency

  • Low-carbon & sustainable, made from renewable materials

Session 1: Wednesday, Aug 20, 6:30–8:00 PM
Tour the framed jobsite before hempcrete installation. Learn about the design process, materials, and setup.

Session 2: Sunday, Aug 24, 10:30-12:30 PM
Return to see the same home after hempcrete installation. Walk through the transformation, hear about the process, and bring your questions.

This is a knowledge and experience share — not a hands-on build — created to help local builders, homeowners, and curious neighbors get familiar with hempcrete as a building option.

Cost: $25 (includes both days)

Facilitator: Natalie Anderson of BZ Corner

*Minimum covers cost of materials and use of space. The facilitators are gifting their time. Refunds with 24 hr notice. No one turned away for lack of funds, contact themissingcorner@gmail.com if cost is a concern.
