What the river taught me about complexity and a Woman’s capacity to hold life.
Rivers don’t simplify complexity — and neither should we.
As a river scientist, kayaker, mother, and architect of living systems, I’ve learned that real capacity isn’t about doing more. It’s about building structures that can hold variability and slow our lives — the way wood in healthy rivers creates mosaicked, complex landscapes where life rejuvenates and thrives.
Meet Natalie: Wayfinder & Owner
Natalie is the vision holder. Her favorite quote is “The anchors you choose are what sets you free”. She doesn’t remember who said that or where she heard it, but it has stuck with her for years. The Missing Corner is one of her anchors.
