As a river scientist, kayaker, mother, and architect of living systems, I’ve learned that real capacity isn’t about doing more. It’s about building structures that can hold variability and slow our lives — the way wood in healthy rivers creates mosaicked, complex landscapes where life rejuvenates and thrives.
